The latest Firmware 4.0.0 update brings smarter functionality, greater personalization, and improved precision to the Thermion 2 LRF 60 riflescope line.

With tools like automatic video capture, upgraded ballistics, and a more intuitive interface, the XL60, XG60, and XP60 models are now easier and more reliable to use in the field.

The free update is available from September 18 via the Stream Vision 2 app.

Key highlights

  • Recoil-activated and shadow video recording: capture key moments with ease
  • Updated laser rangefinder algorithm: helps you stay focused on the target
  • Customizable color palettes and user settings: saves time and reduces distractions
  • Added units to Ballistics calculator and Zeroing widget: greater accuracy and confidence

Under this firmware, each Thermion 2 LRF 60 model becomes more intuitive and capable.

Always-on video, even when you forget to press Record

With Recoil-Activated Video Recording, you never have to worry about missing the shot. Once enabled, the device automatically detects recoil and saves the recording for you. Each clip begins 30 seconds before the shot and continues for 30 seconds after. Fire multiple shots, and the device captures the entire sequence – from 30 seconds before the first to 30 seconds after the last.

With Shadow Recording, your device automatically saves footage starting 30 seconds before you press the REC button – so you never miss a crucial moment. You can enable this feature quickly through the main menu.

Laser rangefinder (LRF) that doesn’t change your view

The updated LRF algorithm delivers instant distance measurements without interrupting your view: no switching back to base magnification or Picture-in-Picture window appearing. Keep your focus on the target and enjoy a seamless observation experience.

Personalization made simple

With Firmware 4.0.0, you can switch color palettes with a long press of the LRF button. And, to simplify operation, you can deactivate unused palettes in the main menu for faster access to relevant palettes: whether it’s White Hot, Red Monochrome, the brand new Green, or any other of the nine available palettes.

Together with updated User settings, which allow you to keep image and zoom settings after shutdown, this feature will save time and hassle, while ensuring a personalized experience that works best for you.

The firmware update will also allow you to choose how you adjust the zoom of your Thermion 2. By default, you can choose to use ZOOM button or use the encoder. When Zoom On Button Press is enabled, the encoder only works after pressing the ZOOM button, preventing accidental zoom changes.

Broader ballistics adaptability

With expanded measuring units and a ballistics widget that displays even more information on the screen, shooters gain finer control customized to their gear and environment.

Additional benefits for improved user experience

Firmware update 4.0.0 for Thermion 2 LRF 60 line also offers an Auto Display Off function which shuts the display down when the riflescope is not in a shooting angle, thus helping you stay discreet.

The USB-C video output allows you to share or process your footage on any computer or USB-C smartphone without special adapters. And finally, the increased timeout for WiFi settings menu makes your first connection smoother.
